Rhizome champions born-digital art and culture through commissions, exhibitions, digital preservation, and software development. Founded by artist Mark Tribe as a listserve including some of the first artists to work online, Rhizome has played an integral role in the history of contemporary art engaged with digital technologies and the internet.
Since 2003, Rhizome has been an affiliate in residence at the New Museum in New York City.
In July 2012, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar signed a cooperative management agreement and announced the formation of the Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy, Inc. (JBRPC) to support the unique relationship between the City of New York and the National Park Service. JBRPC was formally established in 2013 as a public-private partnership dedicated to improving the 10,000 acres of public parkland throughout Jamaica Bay and the Rockaway peninsula for local residents and visitors alike.

Beam Center brings together youth, artists, engineers, and educators to produce ambitious, collaborative projects that support youth to take bold steps towards meaningful futures and foster conditions for educational equity. Young people learn to collaborate and create while learning skills in fabrication, prototyping, metalwork, physical computing, construction, and design.
